Where Bold Stories Take Flight.
Rebel Goose Books is an independent publishing house located on Vancouver Island, Canada. We publish beautiful books that inspire young minds to dream boldly and question freely. Our mission is to champion stories requiring courage to tell, stories reflecting the vibrant, complex world children and teens live in today—where challenges are met with resilience, differences are celebrated, and every experience offers a chance to grow.
About the Publisher
Susan Pi is the founder and publisher of Rebel Goose Books. With a Master of Publishing from Simon Fraser University, she has built a 15-year career exploring diverse roles within the publishing world, beginning at Ten Speed Press (now part of Random House), where she helped bring countless books to market. Later, as Marketing Director at Heyday Books, one of California’s largest and oldest nonprofit publishing houses, she spearheaded efforts to promote diverse voices and stories. She also served on the Northern California Book Publicity and Marketing Association (NCBPMA), coordinating events to connect publishing professionals. Her career spans editing, marketing, design, bookselling, and ghostwriting, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the publishing process. This breadth of experience gives her a holistic understanding of the creative, technical, and business sides of publishing, which she brings to every project at Rebel Goose.
Susan’s ability to identify what makes a story resonate, combined with a passion for authenticity and emotional depth, forms the foundation of Rebel Goose Books. Fueled by a deep love for storytelling and a commitment to making a difference, Susan leads Rebel Goose Books with creativity, expertise, and an unwavering belief in the power of stories to shape hearts and minds.
